Job Title: Site Engineer – Infrastructure (Roads & Township Development)

Job Salary : 25000-40000

Location: Gadchiroli, Maharashtra

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer (Civil) to oversee and execute all infrastructure works within a township project. The engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end construction of roads—including bituminous/tar roads (WMM, DBM, BC), concrete roads (PQC, DLC), and brick/paver block roads—as per approved drawings, standards, and timelines.
The role involves managing site operations from initial surveying to final handover, coordinating with contractors, monitoring quality, ensuring material availability, and maintaining adherence to safety and statutory norms.

Key Responsibilities (Point-by-Point)A. Planning & Preparation

  • Review and interpret construction drawings, road cross-sections, profiles, and BOQs.
  • Conduct site surveys, leveling, and marking using auto level/total station.
  • Prepare daily/weekly work plans, resource schedules, and progress forecasts.
  • Assess requirements for machinery, manpower, shuttering, formwork, and materials.

B. Road Construction Execution1. Tar/Bituminous Road Works

  • Supervise subgrade preparation: soil compaction, CBR checks, density tests.
  • Manage GSB (Granular Sub Base) and ensure proper grading & compaction.
  • Oversee WMM (Wet Mix Macadam) laying – moisture content, thickness, roller passes.
  • Coordinate bitumen spraying, DBM (Dense Bituminous Macadam) laying & compaction.
  • Execute BC (Bituminous Concrete) including temperature control and joint quality.
  • Verify testing: core cutting, density, bitumen content, Marshall stability tests.

2. Concrete Road Works

  • Execute subbase and DLC (Dry Lean Concrete) layers with correct thickness & leveling.
  • Supervise PQC (Pavement Quality Concrete) batching, mixing, and placement.
  • Ensure use of vibratory screeds, needle vibrators, and proper finishing techniques.
  • Monitor expansion joints, dowel bars, tie bars, groove cutting & curing processes.
  • Maintain QA/QC procedures: slump test, cube tests, surface strength checks.

3. Brick / Paver Block Roads

  • Oversee subgrade & sand bedding preparation.
  • Ensure correct laying patterns: herringbone, stretcher bond, zig-zag.
  • Check edge restraints, compaction, and joint filling with kiln dust/chips.

C. Drainage & Utility Coordination

  • Supervise installation of side drains, culverts, manholes, stormwater lines.
  • Coordinate utilities: water supply pipelines, electrical ducts, telecom conduits as per drawing.
  • Ensure slopes, invert levels, and cross-falls meet design standards.

D. Quality Control & Documentation

  • Maintain site diaries, DPRs (Daily Progress Reports) and material consumption logs.
  • Conduct routine quality tests for soil, aggregates, concrete, bitumen, and paver blocks.
  • Ensure compliance with IRC, MORTH, IS standards.
  • Inspect completed work for alignment, camber, gradients, thickness, and finish.

E. Contractor & Team Coordination

  • Manage labor deployment and supervise contractors/subcontractors.
  • Execute work within approved budgets and time schedules.
  • Coordinate with architects, consultants, PMC, senior engineers, and vendors.
  • Identify risks or delays and propose corrective actions.

F. Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure strict adherence to site safety protocols, PPE usage, machinery safety, and statutory norms.
  • Conduct regular toolbox talks and ensure a safe working environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E / B.Tech Civil) – mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge of road construction techniques, drainage works, surveying instruments, and QA/QC procedures.

Experience Requirements

  • 4 to 8 years of hands-on experience in road construction, township infrastructure, or urban development projects.
  • Experience managing bituminous, concrete, and paver block road works from start to finish.
  • Prior experience in township projects, industrial parks, or government road works is an added advantage.

Technical Skills Required

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and reading civil drawings.
  • Ability to use Auto Level / Dumpy Level / Total Station.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
