Experience Level : 5+ years as a ServiceNow QA Tester Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled ServiceNow QA to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of hands-on experience working with the ServiceNow platform , particularly in ITSM , CMDB , HRSD , Discovery , and other core modules. The candidate should be an expert in manual and automated testing , including functional testing , API testing , and UI testing . A key responsibility of this role is ensuring the quality, performance , and reliability of ServiceNow applications and integrations. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing test plans, performing integration and regression testing, and troubleshooting complex ServiceNow configurations. The role requires proficiency with tools such as ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF) , Postman , Selenium , and other testing tools, working closely with Agile teams to ensure smooth project delivery and high-quality results. Key Responsibilities: ServiceNow Platform Expertise : Demonstrate a deep understanding of ServiceNow modules such as ITSM , CMDB , HRSD , Discovery , and Service Portal . Validate ServiceNow portal customizations, widgets, UI components, and integrations with third-party systems. Test ServiceNow translations and language packs for multi-lingual support. Work on POC testing for new features and modules before deployment. Test Planning & Execution : Lead the creation, execution, and maintenance of comprehensive test plans , test cases , and test scripts . Perform functional , regression , integration , security , and performance testing for various ServiceNow modules. Validate configurations, customizations, and integrations for both standard and third-party solutions. Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and support business users during test execution. Automation & Technical Testing : Utilize ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF) to automate UI and API tests. Develop automation scripts using Selenium , TestNG , JavaScript , and Jelly Script for efficient regression testing. Perform API testing using REST/SOAP frameworks with tools like Postman and SoapUI . Test workflow automation , business rules , and script includes within ServiceNow. Integration & Customization Testing : Conduct thorough integration testing to ensure seamless interaction between ServiceNow and other business-critical systems (e.g., Active Directory , LDAP , third-party APIs ). Validate custom UI components developed with HTML , CSS , JavaScript , and PowerShell scripts . Test PowerShell scripts, automated workflows , and ServiceNow integration configurations . Defect Management & Reporting : Identify, log, track, and manage defects using tools like Jira or ServiceNow’s Defect Management system. Work closely with developers to troubleshoot issues, validate fixes, and ensure timely defect resolution. Communicate test results and defect status to stakeholders and project teams. Collaboration & Agile Testing : Participate actively in Agile processes including sprint planning , daily stand-ups , retrospectives , and backlog grooming . Collaborate with ServiceNow developers , business analysts , and stakeholders to understand requirements and create detailed test cases. Ensure testing efforts align with sprint goals and deadlines to deliver high-quality results. Continuous Improvement : Continuously assess and refine testing methodologies, tools, and processes to improve efficiency. Provide feedback on process improvements and ServiceNow enhancements based on testing outcomes. Patch & Upgrade Testing : Perform testing during ServiceNow platform upgrades and patch releases to ensure platform stability . Validate that new patches/releases do not introduce regressions and maintain system functionality. Preferred Qualifications: Certifications : ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) and Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) – ITSM are preferred. Additional Skills : Familiarity with performance testing , ServiceNow reporting , and Security testing . Experience with ServiceNow Discovery , CMDB , and Event Management testing is a plus. Desired Traits: Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of the entire testing lifecycle . Proactive in identifying risks and issues early, addressing them effectively.
