Responsibilities:

Your purpose will be to help Operations team and wider business to improve speed and accuracy of delivery, in automation or integration using Service Now. Whether it be improving a web page so that we can collect the right information first time, to streamlining the data workflow, or developing a new widget to generate insight and actions, to then integrating and parsing content into another platform. Your efforts will make a tremendous impact on our customers and the internal business.

As a ServiceNow Developer, you will use your skills and experience in front-end languages and web-services to deliver improvements and upgrades to service platforms that promote automation and integration. Primarily working in ServiceNow, but also working to integrate Salesforce, Atlassian (Jira and Confluence), Azure, Microsoft 365, and AWS, you will be at the front of our automation journey.

Reporting into the Digital Experience Director, and as part of wider IT team working from a monthly roadmap, you will see the value of your work every month and get to work on the most exciting projects we have to offer.

HOW DO YOU KNOW IF THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU?

  • Are you a Developer who sees automating everything as your ideal way of working?
  • Do you enjoy getting into the detail?
  • Do you like new tech, including cloud-first and automation-first goals?
  • Can you digest business requirements and translate them into technical deliveries?
  • Are you comfortable with recommending a technical solution, implementing it, documenting what you have done, and then finally passing it to support teams?
  • Are you OK being responsible for the delivery of a project and working under varying levels of pressure?

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with development and implementation of ServiceNow CSM module
  • Enhance customer experience through service portal development and advanced customisations.
  • Proven experience in ServiceNow scripting including business rules, fix scripts, script includes and client scripts
  • Scripting experience with one or more of: JavaScript, Angular, HTML, CSS, and PowerShell
  • System integration experience using web services and other web-based technologies, such as one or more of: XML, HTML, AJAX, CSS, HTTP, REST/SOAP, DOM/APIs
  • Customizing ServiceNow using UI Pages, UI Macro & CMS using CSS, and HTML

Non-functional skills

  • 3 years + experience with ServiceNow
  • Ability to present technical functionality to non-technical users
  • Experience of supporting highly available and maintainable systems
  • Proven ability to cope with a fast-paced environment whilst exercising suitable controls (e.g., change control, governance)
  • Comfortable in providing project updates and to ask for help when needed
  • Ability to capture functional and non-functional requirements and produce accurate and meaningful documentation
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and persistence to see issue through to resolution
  • Self-starter attitude and self-motivation to keep learning to stay ahead of the curve

GREAT IF YOU ALSO HAVE

  • First-hand experience working with Atlassian, Microsoft 365, AWS, or Salesforce, platforms
  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow Flow Designer to automate business process
  • Integration of ServiceNow to other platforms, AD, AAD, AWS, or similar
