Service Engineer

Job Description

Monitor performance of assigned solar PV sites every morning using monitoring software or platforms. Sort and prioritize sites based on alerts, performance drops, or fault notifications. Conduct on-site visits to troubleshoot and rectify issues related to panels, inverters, wiring, and system connectivity. Handle inverter-related complaints, particularly with SolarEdge systems (including panel-level issues, inverter replacement, and connection verification). Understand and interpret the complete electrical circuit of an on-grid solar plant (up to 15 kW), including AC/DC wiring, protections, and communication systems. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize system uptime. Maintain detailed service reports, documentation, and updates for each site visit. Stay updated with latest inverter technologies including power optimizers and microinverter-based systems. Basic electrical knowledge including voltage, current, resistance, power, circuit protection, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with the full electrical layout of a 15 kW on-grid solar power . Understanding of newer inverter technologies such as microinverters and optimizer-based systems. Ability to read electrical diagrams, perform continuity and voltage testing, and safely work on energized system.
