Server Hardware Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• On-Site Installation & Commissioning:

• Install and configure

  servers, storage systems, firewalls, and related network equipment

  at customer sites.
• Ensure proper setup, testing, and documentation of all deployed systems.
  
• Perform upgrades, patch updates, and preventive maintenance.
  

• Technical Support & Troubleshooting:

• Provide

  on-site diagnosis and resolution

  of issues related to servers, storage, and network hardware.
• Troubleshoot performance, connectivity, and configuration problems.
  
• Coordinate with OEMs / vendors for hardware replacement or RMA activities.
  

• Customer Handling & Relationship Management:

• Interact directly with customers to understand issues, provide timely updates, and ensure satisfaction.
  
• Build and maintain

  strong client relationships

  through professional communication and reliability.
• Act as the technical point of contact for assigned accounts.
  

• Preventive Maintenance & Documentation:

• Conduct regular

  health checks

  and preventive maintenance visits at customer locations.
• Maintain detailed records of installations, incidents, and service reports.
  
• Provide feedback to the internal team for continuous service improvement.
  

• Coordination & Reporting:

• Collaborate with internal technical teams to resolve escalated issues.
  
• Prepare and submit service visit reports and maintenance logs.
  
• Track spare parts, equipment, and tools used during service calls.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Education:

  Diploma / BE / B.Tech in IT, Electronics, or Computer Engineering.

• Experience:

  25 years of experience in

  on-site IT hardware installation and maintenance

  .

• Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of

  servers (Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc.)

  ,

  storage systems (SAN/NAS)

  , and

  firewalls (Fortigate, SonicWall, Palo Alto, etc.)

  .
• Good understanding of

  RAID, networking, and virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V)

  .
• Familiarity with OS installation (Windows Server / Linux) and basic network configuration.
  

• Soft Skills:

• Excellent

  customer interaction, communication, and problem-solving

  skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  
• Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
  

Preferred Certifications :

• OEM Certifications (Dell / HP / Lenovo Servers)
  
• Firewall Certifications (Fortinet NSE, SonicWall, Palo Alto)
  
• Microsoft or VMware Certifications
