Job Description

Key Responsibilities: u Install, configure, and maintain Windows and/or Linux servers (physical and virtual). u Monitor server performance, resource utilization, and uptime to ensure 24/7 availability. u Manage and maintain Active Directory, including user accounts, group policies (GPO), and domain controllers. u Perform patch management, firmware updates, and OS upgrades as part of server hardening. u Administer file servers, print servers, mail servers, web servers, and application servers. u Handle virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM for server deployment and optimization. u Monitor and maintain backup systems and perform regular restoration tests to ensure data integrity. u Implement and manage security policies, firewalls, antivirus, and audit logs on servers. u Create and maintain server documentation including topology, configurations, and procedures. u Respond to and resolve server-related incidents, service requests, and performance issues. u Collaborate with network, security, and application teams for infrastructure planning and incident resolution. u Support compliance efforts (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR) through server audit and reporting practices. Essential Qualifications & Experience: - Option 1: Three-year Diploma in Computer/Electronics Engineering with a minimum of 55% marks from a Government-recognized Board/University and at least 1 year of hands-on experience. OR - Option 2: Graduate in any stream with a 1-year certificate course in computer maintenance/server administration and at least 2 years of hands-on experience in installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining a large number of PCs and servers with Windows/Linux OS. Desirable Skills: - Proficiency in managing Windows IIS Server, DNS Server, Active Directory, Mail Server, Hyper-V, etc. - Preference will be given to candidates with MCSE certification and knowledge of IBM iSeries (AS/400) Server. Preferred Qualification: - B.E. in Computer/Electronics/Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) from a Government-recognized Board/University with at least 55% marks and relevant experience.
