Position Overview
We are looking for a
US Taxation Senior
specializing in
Partnership Tax (Form 1065)
for Financial Services clients. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with hedge funds, private equity, venture capital, and fund of funds structures. You will be responsible for reviewing complex tax filings and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and international tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review complex Form 1065 returns including Schedules K-1, K-2, K-3
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Provide tax planning, consulting, and strategy for financial services clients such as hedge funds, private equity funds, venture capital funds, and fund of funds
- Lead and manage the preparation of tax returns and workpapers under US tax laws
- Address technical issues including M-1, M-2, and M-3 reconciliations
- Identify and resolve tax issues and provide recommendations
- Work directly with clients to deliver timely and accurate service
- Mentor and train junior staff; participate in the performance review process
- Support technology initiatives and contribute to process improvements
Must-Have Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in US partnership taxation
- Proven expertise in Form 1065 and related schedules
- Experience working on hedge funds, private equity, venture capital, or funds of funds
- Strong knowledge of US federal tax compliance and tax concepts relevant to financial services
- Experience working with consulting firms, Big 4, or mid/large CPA firms (industry-only backgrounds are not considered)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to work from the office full-time
- Comfortable with longer hours during peak seasons
- Must be located within reasonable commuting distance (max ~1 hour)
- Immediate availability or short notice preferred
Preferred Qualifications (Nice To Have)
- CPA, CA, or EA certification
- Exposure to international tax compliance and coordination with global teams
- Familiarity with performance management tools and client communication platforms
