Senior Underwriter

As a Senior Underwriter in the Live Underwriting team for US Mortgage, your role involves reviewing and verifying loan applications along with supporting documentation. You will be analyzing loan risks and requesting additional information when necessary to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies. Your responsibilities include determining and documenting loan conditions, communicating requirements or decisions, and identifying portfolio risks arising from client business practices. Additionally, you will be expected to document and effectively communicate reasons for loan approval or rejection, as well as any other activities assigned by your manager. Key Responsibilities: - Review and verify loan applications and support documentation - Analyze loan risk and request additional information as necessary - Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies - Determine and document loan conditions, communicate requirements and decisions - Identify portfolio risks from client business practices - Document and effectively communicate reasons for loan approval/rejection - Perform any other activities assigned by your manager Qualifications/Requirements: - 5+ years of recent US Mortgage underwriting experience in compliance review, disclosures preparation, closing, doc preparation, or due diligence in the residential mortgage industry - Knowledge of current mortgage policies, compliance laws, regulations including TRID, and understanding of mortgage regulatory changes - High producer with attention to quality and strong commitment to customer service - Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently - Detail-oriented with superior verbal and written communication skills - Strong PC skills, proficient in Microsoft Office - Must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain a positive attitude while providing exemplary customer service Company Details: - Website: situsamc.com In your role as a Senior Underwriter, you are expected to demonstrate a thorough understanding of mortgage guidelines and policies for VA, FHA, FNMA, FHLMC, and USDA. Your expertise should include analyzing and calculating qualifying income from various tax documents, credit reports, and bank statements. Experience in both automated underwriting systems (AUS) and manual underwriting methods is necessary, including familiarity with third-party loan-level fraud reports. Additionally, experience in working with Non-QM loans and industry-standard loan origination systems would be advantageous for this role.,
