Senior Tool Room Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Tool Room Engineer with strong expertise in plastic injection mold manufacturing and maintenance. The role focuses on preventive and breakdown maintenance, mold optimization, troubleshooting hot-runner systems, and ensuring compliance with automotive quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform mold assembly, disassembly, preventive & breakdown maintenance.
• Conduct root cause analysis, corrective actions, and downtime reduction.
• Handle mold polishing, fitting, and finishing for defect-free components.
• Work on mold modifications, new mold trials, PPAP & APQP validations.
• Operate and plan work using EDM, Wirecut, CNC, and conventional machines.
• Debug hot-runner systems, hydraulic & pneumatic cores.
• Maintain mold history records, breakdown reports, MTTR & MTBF.
• Support IATF 16949, ISO, and customer audit requirements.
• Lead shift activities, training, and inter-department coordination.
• Drive continuous improvement through Kaizen, 5S, CAPA, and Poka-Yoke.

Core Skills

• Strong knowledge of injection molding & blow molding (EBM).
• Expertise in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and SAP tool room modules.
• Understanding of PFMEA, PPAP, APQP, GD&T, 7QC tools.
• Hands-on with EDM, Wirecut, grinding, polishing & fitting.
• Familiarity with automotive standards & documentation.

Qualifications

• Diploma / B.Tech / BE in Mechanical / Tool & Die / Production Engineering.
• 7+ years of tool room & mold maintenance experience in the automotive plastic injection molding industry.

Preferred Experience

• Worked with OEMs / Tier-1 suppliers in automotive plastics.
• Exposure to materials: Nylon, PP, PC, ABS, POM, PMMA, TPE, PBT, HDPE, LDPE, PEEK, etc.
• Experience in various mold types: 2-plate, 3-plate, Hot Runner, Unscrewing, Blow molds, Tandem molds, Semi-HRS.

Pay: ₹13,212.41 - ₹45,964.57 per month
