This role will be part of a global DWS Tech (Production Assurance) team responsible for guaranteeing overall stability of DWS systems and supporting business applications in a follow-the-sun support model working closely with vendor delivery partners. The support team is interfacing with business and IT for ensuring high availability of all components. The area Data is the backbone of our architecture and covers processing and provisioning of all relevant data and delivers into DWS business applications. You will work in close collaboration with the Development, QA and DevOps teams to ensure high level of service delivery to business stakeholders while maintaining integrity and stability of the production systems. Your key responsibilities Primarily supports the production platform, carrying out analysis, monitoring and remediation / troubleshoot production issues and specific maintenance tasks as per the runbook procedures, apply workarounds and/or deploy permanent solutions. They aid with analysis of the Production platform to identify performance and resiliency enhancements. Implements technical and functional solutions as provided by Development/Production Engineers Logs and tracks manual tasks for automation through to completion. Ability to track and report project/task progress, risks, issues, dependencies, and performance. Facilitates project meetings, workshops and supporting documentation. Configures the application, in response to Business and/or technical problems and in accordance with provided requirements and agreed design principles. Responsible for Incident, Change, Problem, Event, and knowledge Management for the applications assigned to. Primary activities are: Engineering and Technical Support Relationship Management Incident, Problem and Change Management Continual Service Improvement activities Disaster Recovery Planning & Testing Production Readiness & Testing Stability & Prioritization Representation Research, analyse and recommend improvements to the organizations use of the software applications. Coordinate with different teams (Configuration Management team,DBAs, Infrastructure teams and Application Development teams) Participate in a culture of knowledge sharing with the development team. Your skills and experience Working experience in banking financial institution in providing IT support and dealing with business users on support or requirement gathering Experienced in supporting regulatory reporting deliveries E2E across applications including stakeholder management. Experienced in ITSM / Service management / Environment / Incident management / Crisis management. Getting things done in large organizations understanding of where to use processes and how to build and operate a network. Experience working with virtual and global teams, work across countries, regions and time zones with a broad range of cultures and technical capability, ability to provide out of hours coverage as needed. Broad ITIL / best practice service context within a real time distributed environment (ITIL v3 foundation certificate desired) Ability to manage ambiguity, risk, and changing direction of projects and strategies. Experience with using UNIX, Linux, Wintel, Perl/Shell scripting, as well as ability to write SQL to extract and patch data in Sybase and Oracle databases. Familiarity with JAVA SQL/PLSQL: Good skills in writing SQL queries, identify long running queries, locks, issues on database Unix: Advanced skills, hands-On Experience with troubleshooting, advanced ability to research, analyze and recommend improvements. Experience in supporting digital projects using Microservices, APIs, Kafka, Streamsets would be advantageous. Experience of Monitoring tools such as Splunk, Geneos, New Relic. Grafana Experience of Scheduling tools such as Control-M (extensive hands-on experience with Control-M batch config, job scheduling and parameterization) Exposure to any cloud platforms (GCP preferred) would be advantageous. Proactive and able to work independently. Strong problem ownership skills and attitude Proven history of working in a delivery model based on agreed Service Level agreements and working to continuously improve the efficiency and quality of service delivered. Self-motivated professional, very good English language skills (verbal & written), good communicator and experienced in working in a follow-the-sun-model. A Computer Science or MIS degree holder (Additional qualifications in financial field is desired) Ability and willingness to work in night shift (for example - US Shift, EST time zone) is a must.
