Senior Service Engineer

Why Us

Job Title: ServiceNow Developer (ITSM Discovery Focus)Job Summary We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Developer with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in the ServiceNow platform, specializing in IT Service Management (ITSM) and Discovery modules
The ideal candidate will design, configure, develop, and maintain ServiceNow solutions to support IT operations, including CMDB population via Discovery, incident/problem/change management, and integrations
You will collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical implementations, ensuring best practices and optimal performance
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, configure, and customize ServiceNow ITSM modules (e
g
, Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Service Catalog, Knowledge Management)
Implement and optimize ServiceNow Discovery, including probes, patterns, MID Servers, service mapping, and CMDB integration for accurate asset and configuration item discovery
Develop and maintain workflows, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, UI actions, script includes, and Flow Designer automations
Integrate ServiceNow with third-party systems using REST/SOAP APIs, Orchestration, and other tools
Configure and manage CMDB, ensuring data accuracy and relationships through Discovery and Service Mapping
Gather requirements from stakeholders, perform system upgrades, patches, and maintenance
Troubleshoot issues, provide technical support, and create documentation for configurations and processes
Ensure compliance with ITIL best practices and security standards
Collaborate in Agile/Scrum environments, participate in testing (including ATF), and support deployments via update sets

Required Qualifications and SkillsExperience: Minimum 3 years of professional ServiceNow development experience, with strong focus on ITSM and Discovery/ITOM modules.
Technical Skills:Proficiency in JavaScript, GlideScript, Glide APIs, HTML/CSS. Hands-on experience with ServiceNow scripting (Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, etc. ). Expertise in Discovery setup, pattern customization, credential management, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of CMDB, Service Mapping, and ITOM processes. Experience with integrations (REST, SOAP, MID Server).

Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Certifications (Preferred/Required):ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA). ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD). ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - ITSM and/or Discovery. ITIL Foundation certification is a plus.

Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication, ability to work in a team, and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications4+ years of experience or exposure to additional modules like ITOM, ITAM, or HRSD.
Experience with ServiceNow Vancouver, Washington, or newer releases. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
