Senior Reporter

We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic Senior Journalist to lead news reporting, develop impactful stories, and guide junior reporters in a fast-paced newsroom environment. The ideal candidate must have excellent storytelling skills, strong editorial judgment, and a deep understanding of current affairs, politics, and social issues. This role requires on-ground reporting, anchoring (optional), content planning, and newsroom leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and produce high-impact news stories, features, and investigations for broadcast and digital platforms.

Report live from the field, conduct interviews, and cover breaking news events.

Mentor junior reporters, helping them shape stories and improve reporting skills.

Pitch original story ideas and contribute to editorial planning meetings.

Work closely with producers, editors, and camera crews to ensure high-quality content.

Verify facts, cross-check sources, and ensure journalistic integrity in all reporting.

Represent the news channel professionally during press briefings, interviews, and public events.

Monitor news trends, social media, and wire services to stay ahead of developing stories.

May contribute to anchoring or hosting news bulletins or special segments (optional).

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or related field.

5–10 years of experience in journalism, preferably in television or digital news.

Proven track record of impactful reporting and strong writing skills.

Excellent command of language (spoken and written) – [Specify: English, Hindi, regional, etc.].

Experience in field reporting, newsroom operations, and editorial leadership.

Familiarity with media laws, ethics, and broadcasting standards.
