What youll do:
The SQE Manager leads a team responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of components and materials supplied to the company. This role is critical in managing supplier relationships, improving supplier performance, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and company quality requirements. The SQE Manager works closely with Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, and suppliers to drive continuous improvement in the supply base.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the Supplier Quality Engineering team. Develop and maintain supplier quality systems aligned with ISO 9001, IATF 16949 (if applicable), or other industry standards. Evaluate and qualify new suppliers through audits, capability assessments, and risk analysis. Monitor and improve supplier performance through KPIs (PPM, on-time delivery, corrective actions, etc.). Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for supplier-related quality issues. Collaborate with internal teams on new product introductions (NPI) to ensure supplier readiness and quality planning. Maintain supplier scorecards and lead regular business reviews with key suppliers. Lead or support initiatives related to cost reduction, quality improvement, and supply chain resilience. Manage non-conforming material processes and supplier corrective actions. Ensure compliance with RoHS and other regulatory requirements relevant to the electronics industry.
What you need to bring:
Bachelor s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or related technical field); advanced degree preferred. 8+ years of experience in supplier quality engineering in the electronics or high-tech manufacturing industry. 3+ years of leadership or management experience. Strong understanding of electronic components, PCBs, and assembly processes. Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies: FMEA, SPC, MSA, DOE, 8D, root cause analysis. Experience with quality systems: ISO 9001, ISO 14001. Experience with regulatory standards such as IPC, RoHS, etc. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
