Job Description

Perform automation test activities for a major product platform implementation interacting with client stakeholders, working with cross-functional teams, ensuring end-to-end coverage of functional testing, implementing test automation frameworks, and enabling in-sprint test automation for UI as well as backend.

Job Description / Duties and Responsibilities

Function as the test automation engineer for major product platform implementation, ensuring quality of the application under test
Apply analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to identify root causes and implement efficient, creative, and cost-effective solutions
Perform test planning, team coordination, monitoring, and control of testing activities
Communicate findings in both technical and user-friendly language
Participate in customer calls, requirement gathering, sprint planning/grooming, and sprint reviews as needed
Experience with projects having in-sprint test automation
Expertise in automation testing tools, specifically Cypress and TestRail
Coordinate closely with customer and development teams for testing activities and communication
Ensure stories meet acceptance criteria and are tested as per sprint plan to prevent defect leakage
Monitor project process and quality, alert project manager on deviations/risks
Track quality metrics and implement proactive interventions to improve metrics
Report test metrics to client stakeholders accurately
Good working knowledge of Agile and DevOps processes, particularly related to testing
Understand testing needs as per product requirements and enable test automation
Perform test planning for each sprint and enable in-sprint automation aligned with development cycles
Ensure defined test approach is followed and raise risks encountered
Collaborate with the team to ensure timely testing of stories
Perform test reporting (progress, summary, quality metrics) and keep project team updated
Participate in periodic review of testing processes and deliverables, suggest improvements
Identify and implement technical innovations, including AI adoption, to improve engineering processes
Adapt quickly to new tools and industry best practices
Support the testing team in addressing concerns or issues during the project
