Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive purchase requisitions from departments and verify specifications.
  • Identify potential suppliers and obtain quotations as per procurement policies.
  • Prepare comparative statements and assist in vendor selection.
  • Negotiate with vendors for best prices, quality, and delivery timelines.
  • Raise purchase orders (POs) and ensure proper documentation and approvals.
  • Coordinate with vendors for timely delivery and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, vendor information, and contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with Sevalayas procurement guidelines and donor requirements.
  • Support periodic audits by providing required purchase-related documents.
  • Work closely with Accounts for invoice verification and payments.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Preferred:

    MBA / PG in Materials Management, Logistics, or Operations Management/Relevant Experience

  • Minimum

    3 to 15

    years of experience in procurement, preferably in NGOs or educational institutions.
  • Knowledge of local markets and vendor networks.
  • Familiarity with procurement software or ERP systems is a plus.
