About the Role

Senior Production Support Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, research, and resolve major defects, inconsistencies, and performance issues in system functions.
Manage and respond to system monitoring alerts, escalations, and outages promptly.
Provide
24/7 on-call production support
on a rotational schedule.
Conduct detailed analysis of incidents and statistics to develop service availability improvement plans.
Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to design effective technical solutions for complex production issues.
Focus on
service restoration and minimizing Mean Time To Restoration (MTTR)
.
Perform
in-depth code reviews
to ensure code quality and maintainability.
Guide, mentor, and support junior production support engineers.
Maintain and monitor server space, system performance, and application health.
Document system procedures, incident reports, and root cause analyses.
Participate in project meetings and provide input for deployment readiness and production stability.
Proactively identify and implement process improvements to enhance support efficiency.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders and management during incidents and service disruptions.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in
Computer Science
, Information Technology, or a related field.
5+ years of experience
in
Java development and product support
.
Hands-on experience with
Spring Boot (version 2 or 3)
.
Strong
Linux OS
knowledge (minimum 5 years).
3+ years of experience
working with
Oracle or MySQL
databases.
Proven experience in
monitoring and optimizing Linux systems and hardware
.
Strong
scripting experience
in
Shell, Python, Perl, or Ruby
.
Proficiency in
SQL
and
Linux shell commands
is
mandatory
.
Demonstrated ability to perform
in-depth code reviews
and resolve complex application issues.
Experience mentoring junior team members or acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).

Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have)

Experience working with
Java 17 or later
.
Exposure to
CI/CD pipelines
, version control tools (Git), and monitoring tools (Splunk, ELK, Prometheus, etc.).
Familiarity with
incident management frameworks
(ITIL preferred).
