Description
As a Senior Procurement Advisor at EY, you will play a crucial role in advising and overseeing the procurement activities for construction and infrastructure projects, managing procurement and commercial risks, and maximizing project success. Your responsibilities will include: - Working closely with EY team members and clients to advise on procurement strategy and execution across major capital projects. - Providing best-in-class advice, guidance, and specialist procurement knowledge to infrastructure clients, ensuring competitive processes align with market capacity and comply with Irish and EU public procurement rules. - Developing and implementing procurement strategies, identifying needs, developing plans, managing competitive processes, reviewing supplier performance, and negotiating contracts. - Conducting market analysis to assess contracting organizations" capacity and capability and providing advice on the best contracting strategy. - Building and maintaining positive relationships, offering professional advice on procurement and sourcing strategies, policies, guidelines, and legislation. - Collaborating with project teams to develop contract management plans, coordinate contract formation, and mitigate contractual risks. To qualify for this role, you must have: - A 3rd level educational qualification in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying, Procurement, Law, or a related field. - At least 10 years of professional experience in public procurement, contract management, and/or administration in the construction sector. - Experience working in multi-disciplined teams, knowledge of industry and market conditions, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage procurement risk effectively. - Initiative, decision-making skills, and the ability to work in a challenging and evolving environment. - Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to identify and achieve targets through optimized procurement strategies.
