Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with cross-functional teams and leadership to align on the technology roadmap
- Review project progress, identify risks, and prioritize
Cloud, IoT, and AI/ML initiatives
- Maintain awareness of
embedded systems
and their integration into product development
Clinical Needs Translation
- Collaborate with clinical and product teams to translate clinical needs into clear software requirements
- Ensure solutions address technical and user-centric outcomes, especially for embedded systems
Technical Advisory Participation
- Participate in
Technical Advisory Committees
- Ensure system designs are scalable, secure, and compliant with governance frameworks
- Account for the specific demands of embedded software architectures
Product & Business Alignment
- Partner with product teams to balance technical feasibility with business goals
- Shape product features, manage technical debt, and ensure embedded systems meet expectations
Software Quality Leadership
- Lead software quality initiatives using
Design for Reliability and Manufacturability (DRM)
and Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Plans (PSQIP)
- Ensure compliance with
ISO 13485
and IEC 62304
, with a focus on embedded systems
Knowledge Sharing & Best Practices
- Partner with
Communities of Practice (CoPs)
to foster knowledge sharing - Promote best practices in software engineering, systems design, embedded software, and emerging technologies
Stakeholder Communication
- Present updates and technical roadmaps to internal and external stakeholders
- Address long-term objectives and the unique requirements of embedded software systems
Continuous Improvement
- Drive continuous improvement by assessing software maturity levels
- Implement best practices to elevate product quality
- Ensure alignment with clinical and regulatory standards
Advanced Technology Leadership
- Serve as a technical leader across
Cloud Computing, IoT, AI/ML, and Embedded applications
- Ensure alignment with organizational goals and industry advancements
Architecture & Governance
- Oversee architecture governance and compliance for security, scalability, and software quality
- Conduct technical feasibility assessments for emerging technologies
- Guide strategic decision-making
End-to-End Engineering Oversight
- Oversee end-to-end software engineering processes
- Ensure efficiency, quality, regulatory compliance, and adherence to best practices
Systems Engineering Leadership
- Lead systems engineering efforts ensuring compliance with clinical/therapy requirements
- Ensure alignment with healthcare standards such as
IEC 62304
and ISO 13485
Technical Reviews
- Conduct technical reviews assessing design quality, technical risk, and delivery strategies
Reliability Advocacy
- Advocate for
Software Design for Reliability and Manufacturability (DRM)
- Ensure long-term operational efficiency and software reliability
Innovation & Culture
- Foster collaboration across domains through
Communities of Practice (CoPs)
- Promote an innovation culture through innovation scouting and mentoring
Reporting & Collaboration

Required Knowledge and Experience
Education & Experience
B-Tech / BE
in Computer Science, Electronics, or related field with 20+ years
of experience in Software and Systems Engineering OR
ME / M-Tech
with 18+ years
of relevant experience
Core Requirements
- Proven track record in leading technology teams and innovation across
Cloud, IoT, and software systems
- Expertise in
architecture governance
and implementing software design and development frameworks - Strong knowledge of software engineering processes and tools to drive efficiency and scalability
- Hands-on experience conducting technical evaluations and feasibility studies for emerging technologies
- Deep familiarity with
product security frameworks, regulatory standards, and compliance
- Expertise in
systems engineering
with understanding of clinical/therapy domains and healthcare standards - Leadership in technical innovation, including mentoring teams in clinical and/or software innovations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with
Six Sigma
and/or Design for Reliability and Manufacturability (DRM)
- Knowledge of
AI/ML frameworks
and integration into large-scale systems - Experience in
R&D, technology landscapes, and advanced technology road mapping
- Prior work in
regulated industries
such as medical devices or healthcare technology - Demonstrated leadership in
software quality initiatives
with focus on ISO 13485
and IEC 62304
