Senior Principal Software Engineer

As a Senior Principal Software Engineer at Red Hat, you will be a part of the IT Innovation Team in Pune, India. You will work in a highly dynamic and fast-paced environment, collaborating with different teams and stakeholders to architect and design cutting-edge applications leveraging Generative AI. Your role will involve the following key responsibilities: - Architect, design, document, and develop applications in Java, Python, and frameworks like Spring Boot, Quarkus, LangChain, or other frameworks - Lead implementation of scalable open-source solutions with distributed computing capabilities using Machine Learning models on OpenShift AI - Design new features with RAG, RAFT, GraphRAG, InstructLab, and their pipelines - Develop and optimize retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines using LangChain or other frameworks, and vector databases - Build and fine-tune LLMs and AI-driven applications with Python-based frameworks - Collaborate with product owners, program managers, teams, and engineering managers to analyze business requirements and implement data models and business logic - Mentor and coach a distributed team of engineers - Review code merge requests for new features - Ensure application quality, maintainability, and non-functional requirements are met - Resolve bugs, performance issues, and other production application problems Qualifications required for this role include: - 12+ years of professional Java and Python development experience - Experience in building native microservices with Java and Python - Solid object-oriented software development skills - Understanding of web application infrastructure, REST, HTTP, and public cloud concepts - Knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, vector databases, LangChain, Python/Java-based AI libraries, and continuous delivery practices - Strong communication skills in English and ability to work unsupervised in a fast-paced environment Additionally, the following skills and experiences are considered a plus: - Passion for applied innovation and creativity - Experience in building Chatbots and deploying LLMs on OpenShift AI - Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform products and creating architectural diagrams Red Hat is the world's leading provider of enterprise open-source software solutions, delivering high-performing Linux, cloud, container, and Kubernetes technologies.
