Senior Principal Software Engineer

As a Senior Principal Software Engineer at Red Hat IT Innovation Team in Pune, India, you will be part of a dynamic team working on cutting-edge applications that leverage Generative AI. Your role will involve architecting, designing, and developing applications in Java, Python, and frameworks like Spring Boot, Quarkus, LangChain, and other frameworks. Collaborating with various teams and stakeholders, you will analyze business requirements, implement data models, and ensure application quality and maintainability. Key Responsibilities: - Architect, design, document, and develop applications in Java, Python, and frameworks like Spring Boot, Quarkus, LangChain, and others - Lead implementation of scalable open-source solutions with distributed computing capabilities using Machine Learning models on OpenShift AI - Design new features with RAG, RAFT, GraphRAG, InstructLab, and their pipelines - Optimize retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines using LangChain or other frameworks and vector databases - Build and fine-tune LLMs and AI-driven applications with Python-based frameworks - Collaborate with product owners, program managers, and engineering managers to clarify business requirements - Mentor and coach a distributed team of engineers - Review code merge requests and ensure application quality - Deploy applications to Red Hat OpenShift Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and public clouds like Google Cloud Platform, AWS - Ensure non-functional requirements like performance, scalability, security are met - Resolve bugs, performance issues, and production application problems Qualifications Required: - 12+ years of Java and Python development experience - Experience in building native microservices - Strong object-oriented software development skills - Understanding of web application infrastructure, REST, and HTTP - Knowledge of public cloud concepts, continuous delivery practices, and AI libraries - Proficiency in SDLC tools and Linux development tools - Familiarity with SQL, NoSQL, vector databases, and AI use-cases - Experience with distributed source control like Git and CI workflows - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment About Red Hat: Red Hat is a global leader in enterprise open source software solutions, delivering Linux, cloud, container, and Kubernetes technologies.
