Senior Manager, Software Development

You are looking for a seasoned and strategic Senior Software Development Manager to oversee multiple development teams in creating and delivering scalable, high-quality software solutions. The ideal candidate possesses a blend of robust technical expertise, leadership acumen, and a successful history of managing cross-functional software engineering teams in a dynamic setting. As a Senior Software Development Manager, your primary responsibilities will include leading, mentoring, and nurturing multiple agile software development teams. You will be tasked with establishing clear goals and directions for the teams in alignment with business priorities and technology roadmaps. Collaboration with Product Management, Design, QA, and other stakeholders will be vital to ensure timely and budget-friendly delivery of impactful features. Furthermore, you will be instrumental in driving the implementation of engineering best practices, such as code reviews, unit testing, continuous integration, and scalable architecture. Your role will also involve providing hands-on technical guidance when required, including making architectural decisions and troubleshooting complex issues. Managing technical debt, promoting long-term maintainability and performance, recruiting, onboarding, and nurturing top engineering talent, as well as defining and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) for team and project health will be part of your purview. Additionally, fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, collaboration, and accountability, along with ensuring adherence to security, regulatory, and operational standards, will be essential aspects of your role. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, along with over 10 years of progressive software development experience, including at least 3 years in a technical leadership or management capacity. A strong foundation in full-stack development or backend systems, expertise in Agile/Scrum environments, and a comprehensive understanding of system design, architecture patterns, and scalable distributed systems are essential. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with microservices architecture, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), previous experience in industry-specific domains like eCommerce, FinTech, or Healthcare, knowledge of data privacy and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC2), a proven track record of delivering large-scale enterprise applications, exceptional communication, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills, and experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and modern cloud platforms.
