Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Jira Senior Developer to lead the design, development, customization, and administration of Jira and associated Atlassian tools. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Jira workflows, plugin development, and system integrations. You will work closely with developers, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions, streamline processes, and ensure the stability and efficiency of the Atlassian ecosystem. This role also includes technical leadership responsibilities such as mentoring junior team members, providing advanced troubleshooting, and promoting Atlassian best practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain complex Jira workflows, custom fields, screens, permission schemes, and notification schemes.
Create and manage project templates to standardize project setup across teams.
Develop custom Jira plugins and add-ons to enhance platform functionality.
Integrate Jira with third-party systems and internal tools using REST APIs, webhooks, and other integration methods.
Administer and maintain Jira and other Atlassian tools such as Confluence, including performance tuning, system upgrades, and license management.
Ensure platform reliability, data integrity, and scalability.
Provide technical guidance and support to junior developers and administrators.
Conduct code reviews and promote adherence to Atlassian development best practices.
Automate workflows and repetitive tasks using built-in Jira features or custom scripts.
Analyze existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement across the Atlassian suite.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex Incidents, bugs, and defects within SLA timelines.
Provide advanced support to users, project administrators, and development teams.
Work closely with developers, product owners, project managers, and architects to gather requirements and deliver effective Jira-based solutions.
Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation covering customizations, workflows, integrations, and SDLC processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Strong experience with Jira and Confluence administration, configuration, customization, and development.
Proficiency in scripting and development using Java, Python, Groovy, and REST APIs for plugin and integration development.
Familiarity with Agile frameworks and a deep understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
Proven experience integrating Jira with external/internal systems and applications.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for resolving platform issues and meeting SLA targets.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate, mentor, and document technical solutions clearly.

Preferred Qualifications (Optional):

Atlassian certifications such as ACP-100 (Jira Administrator) or ACP-300 (Jira Software Administrator).
Experience working in regulated or enterprise environments with complex Atlassian implementations.
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tools, or ITSM platforms like ServiceNow is a plus.
