Job Description

Role Overview: You will have the opportunity to work on complex and challenging projects, collaborating with client leaders and front-line operators to drive change and achieve organizational goals. As a part of the consulting team, you will spend a significant amount of time at client locations, working on procurement domains to solve complex problems and implement top-tier transformation initiatives. Key Responsibilities: - Work directly with client leaders and front-line operators to drive change and achieve organizational goals - Spend about 80% of your time at client locations as part of a consulting team working on procurement domains - Collaborate with colleagues and clients to set up and execute transformation offices and performance infrastructure - Build strategies, capabilities, systems, and processes to deliver sustainable results in areas such as cost optimization, global sourcing, supplier development, category analytics, negotiation, strategic sourcing, and procurement - Be involved in the diagnostic, recommendation, execution, and capability building phases, ensuring seamless transformation and sustainable change - Develop cutting edge knowledge related to the Procurement domain and deliver specialized remote services to clients - Support the development and maintenance of practice knowledge initiatives to enhance McKinsey's knowledge on Procurement related topics Qualification Required: - Bachelors degree required; advanced degree preferred (Masters degree - MBA/M.Tech/ME/MS) - Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry/consulting experience - Strong understanding of purchasing, sourcing, supplier identification and management, vendor development, costing, category analytics, etc - Deep procurement experience in the Global Energy and materials space (includes sectors like metals, chemicals, energy, etc) - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently structure and design solutions - Proven leadership skills in a work setting and/or through extracurricular activities - Strong people skills with the ability to engage all levels of the organization and work collaboratively in a team environment - Open to extensive travel to client sites - Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English,
