Job Description

You will be joining Marriott Tech Accelerator, a division of Marriott International, a renowned global leader in hospitality. As a Senior Engineering Manager Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) for the Loyalty team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of essential cloud and on-prem services that cater to millions of Marriott customers worldwide. Your responsibilities will include overseeing incident management, driving automation initiatives, and collaborating with various teams to align SRE strategies with business objectives. You will closely partner with Product Teams, Applications teams, Infrastructure, and other relevant teams to establish key metrics and KPIs to enhance application stability, availability, and performance. Additionally, you will: - Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of mission-critical cloud services by implementing best practices for monitoring, alerting, and incident management. - Lead the management of high-severity incidents, ensuring quick resolution and conducting post-incident analysis to identify root causes and prevent recurrence. - Drive automation of operational processes and ensure effective system scalability to meet increasing user demand. - Develop and execute an SRE strategy aligned with business goals, communicating service health, reliability, and performance metrics to senior leadership and stakeholders. Apart from these responsibilities, the role will involve assessing application architectures, identifying Key Performance Indicators, and applying monitoring to ensure compliance. You will collaborate with Enterprise Application, Architecture, and Infrastructure teams to enhance processes and liaise with vendors and Service Providers to select suitable services and tools that align with company objectives. Your role will also encompass managing projects and priorities, providing technical support and consultation, and delivering on the needs of key stakeholders. You should possess 8-10 years of experience in information technology process and technical project management, including 4+ years as an SRE. Additionally, you should have project lead or management experience in SRE areas and proven automation and programming skills in languages like Java, Python, Go, Perl, or Bash. Furthermore, you are expected to have a deep understanding of SRE practices, continuous development techniques, containerization orchestration engines like Kubernetes, cloud environments such as AWS, security frameworks, and various technical disciplines. Your educational background should include an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
