Senior Engineer - Irrigation

Job Role and Responsibilities:

• Able to lead the team of Engineers engaged in topographical survey, soil investigations, collection and review of data from field and authorized agencies, development of comprehensive DPRs for irrigation projects, including feasibility studies, cost estimates, and risk assessments for irrigation projects.
• Assessment of surface water and ground water and planning their optimum use for irrigation, based on conjunctive use.
• Computation of flood and assessment of HFL from surface water, and assessment of waterlogging areas.
• Crop acreage, Crop water requirement, irrigation planning, and formulating a water allocation plan based on water availability.
• Reservoir capacities and Reservoir Simulation studies, etc.
• Catchment area and drainage delineation mapping using GIS tools.
• Design and planning of Irrigation distribution system and command area for comprehensive and sustainable development.
• Design of Irrigation and Hydraulic Structures like aqueducts, syphons, regulators.
• Design of a more efficient irrigation system using micro / pressurized/ piped irrigation techniques.
• Possibilities and assessment of water recycling for irrigation.
• Drainage planning and design for command area development and Urban Infrastructure development.
• Action plan for irrigation management covering the entire culturable area and available water resources.
• Managing, Monitoring, and formulating work schedules for the team for timely submission and deliveries. Monitoring the financial progress of the project.
• Preparation of DPRs for sustainable irrigation management system (Command Area Development) as per guidelines of CWC.
• Preparation of DPRs for Multipurpose Dam projects as per the guidelines of CWC.

Candidate Specification

• BE Civil. A post-graduation degree in Hydraulics & Water Resource Engineering would be preferable.
• Gravity/Micro irrigation Networks design experience of at least 6+ years would be preferable.
• A Chartered Engineer or working towards achieving it would be preferable.
• Good knowledge of the design process, engineering.
• Experience working on multidisciplinary projects
• Good Project Management skills and knowledge of project commercial issues and constraints will be given preference.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good client liaison skills
• Should be able to troubleshoot and guide team members Software knowledge
• Good experience in working on Bentley WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS,
• Hands-on experience in AutoCAD, Civil 3D
