Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Tooling Procurement Vendor Management

  • Manage procurement of stamping tooling and fixtures from external vendors while ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to quality and engineering standards.

  • Evaluate supplier capabilities, lead time, and technical competence for tooling projects.

  • Coordinate with suppliers on tool design, manufacturing schedules, and readiness status.

2. Cost Analysis Negotiation

  • Analyze cost from RGC/NGC sources and benchmark against project targets.

  • Challenge suppliers on technical and commercial aspects to achieve optimized cost.

  • Prepare cost comparison sheets, negotiation strategies, and approval documents.

3. Tool Readiness Project Support

  • Support commodity teams in ensuring timely tool readiness at supplier locations.

  • Track project timelines and resolve bottlenecks to support NPD and production requirements.

  • Conduct periodic reviews, audits, and follow-ups with vendors.

4. Tool Condition Monitoring

  • Assess tool health regularly to identify refurbishment or maintenance requirements.

  • Coordinate tool refurbishment activities with vendors to ensure tool life and quality.

  • Maintain tool lifecycle documentation and update tool maintenance records.

5. Software Technical Documentation

  • Work on SAP for purchase requisitions, tool tracking, and documentation.

  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations using Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Maintain accurate project documentation including technical specs, approvals, and commercial summaries.

6. Management Reporting

  • Present commercial and technical outcomes to top management for approval.

  • Communicate project status, risks, and next steps to leadership.

  • Provide timely updates on tool readiness, cost savings, and vendor performance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

  • Certification in procurement, cost engineering, or tooling technology is an added advantage.


Work Experience

  • 4–8 years of experience in Tooling Procurement, Vendor Development, or Manufacturing Tooling Management.

  • Experience with stamping tools, fixtures, sheet metal tooling, or automotive tooling preferred.

  • Proven experience working with suppliers on cost, timelines, and technical requirements.
