Senior Director, Mainframe Operations

The Senior DirectorMainframe Operations will oversee a broad range of service delivery to fulfill client expectations and day-to-day operations across all major MF technologies. A background in the banking, capital market, or insurance industry is most desirable, with a focus on delivering client outcomes for a specific set of mainframe clients. Managing teams that administer multiple Mainframes running on z/OS systems using various technologies like Console/Batch Monitoring, Scheduling, DB2, IMS, CICS, Storage, etc., direct mainframe experience is essential. Leveraging business acumen, ability to build relationships, and strategic mindset are crucial for driving the team to successful outcomes. Operating the organization as a business unit driven by metrics, benchmarks, and progress milestones requires strong business acumen. The successful candidate will rethink traditional services and focus on maturing, enhancing, and continuously improving capabilities through innovation and automation. Anticipating client expectations and proactively incorporating needs into client roadmaps will be key. Effective communication, influencing internal and external stakeholders, navigating complex technical topics, and clear, impactful communication are essential skills. Leading cross-functional and collaborative efforts, partnering with solutions and sales, and coaching, mentoring, and leveraging talent management processes are important aspects of the role. The candidate will focus on developing, assessing, and adhering to the completion of personnel, departmental, and company goals. Key areas of focus for this role include strong experience in Mainframe Services Delivery, providing leadership and direction, navigating ambiguity, excellent communication skills, leveraging systems and data, personal accountability, resilience, agility, detail orientation, and follow-up skills. The ideal candidate will have 20+ years of related experience with a bachelor's degree or relevant work experience, able to manage across organizations, clients, and functions. Experience in diverse mainframe technical environments, communication skills, and leading complex projects and programs are required qualifications. Preferred qualifications include a background in Banking, Capital Market, or insurance industry, knowledge in one or more areas of mainframe discipline, ITIL or ITSM oversight, expertise in Release, Change, and CMDB, knowledge of system IPL processes, and project management experience.,
