Job Description

Senior Database Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Database Design & Administration

Oracle
Azure SQL Server

Performance Optimization

query tuning, index management, partitioning, and execution plan analysis
SQL queries, stored procedures, and database structures

BI, ETL & Reporting

SSRS (reporting)

High Availability & Disaster Recovery

Always On, Failover Clustering, Replication, Log Shipping, and Mirroring
backup and disaster recovery strategies

Security & Compliance

RBAC, auditing, encryption, and security best practices

Cloud & Automation

database migrations, upgrades, and cloud adoption strategies
Contribute to database automation initiatives using scripting and cloud-native tools.

Collaboration & Mentorship

Partner with cross-functional stakeholders on database design, integration, and migration projects.
Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and foster knowledge sharing within the team.

Qualifications & Experience

12-15 years
Oracle (PL/SQL, indexing, partitioning)
performance tuning, query optimization, and execution plan analysis
Azure SQL Server, Azure Managed Instance, and cloud-based database solutions
SSRS (reporting services)
high availability configurations
database security, auditing, and compliance
troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication
Preferred certifications:
- Azure Database Administrator Associate
- Database Administrator Certified Professional (OCP)

Preferred Skills

cloud-native database platforms
DevOps practices, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD pipelines
NoSQL databases
