Senior Database Architect

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Architect with extensive experience in both RDBMS and NoSQL databases, including Elastic Search. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing robust, scalable, and high-performance database systems that meet the needs of our organization. This role requires strong SQL skills, expertise in schema design, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve database issues efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Database Design: Design and implement database schemas, ensuring optimal structure and performance for both relational and non-relational databases.
• Performance Tuning: Analyze and optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, and resource management.
• Technology Expertise: Utilize RDBMS (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB) databases effectively, including integration with Elastic Search for enhanced data retrieval.
• SQL Proficiency: Write and optimize complex SQL queries, ensuring efficient data manipulation and retrieval.
• Debugging: Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and data integrity concerns.
• Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement comprehensive backup and recovery strategies to protect data integrity and ensure business continuity.
• Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of database architecture, designs, procedures, and best practices.
• Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to support application design and data modeling, ensuring alignment between database structure and application requirements.
• Security and Compliance: Implement database security measures and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Masters preferred).
• Experience: 8+ years of experience in database systems with atleast 3+ years of proven experience as a Database Architect or similar role, with a strong portfolio of database design and implementation projects.
• Expertise in RDBMS and NoSQL technologies, including hands-on experience with Elastic Search.
• Strong SQL skills, with the ability to write and optimize complex queries.
• Experience with schema design principles and best practices.
• Familiarity with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of database management tools and frameworks.
• Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) for database deployments.
