The role of Senior Data Scientist involves strategic data analysis, market intelligence gathering, and close collaboration with trading teams to support impactful business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and interpret global port and commodity flow data with a core focus on dry bulk materials including iron ore, steel, coking coal, and thermal coal.
• Conduct in-depth sectoral research and produce high-quality market reports tailored to evolving trade patterns and commodity trends.
• Work closely with internal teams including operations, sales, and commercial functions to communicate insights and support decision-making.
• Maintain high data standards through regular validation, ensuring consistency across internal databases and external sources.
• Address time-sensitive queries from traders and internal stakeholders with fast, accurate, and insightful analysis on commodity-related events.
• Build and enhance tools, dashboards, and reporting systems using Excel and other analytical platforms to support trading strategies.

Requirements

• 5–6 years of experience in data analysis or research, within dry bulk commodities (e.g., iron ore, steel, coke & coal).
• Strong understanding of commodity markets and global port data.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
