As an Senior Consultant(ESG/ ESIA)
in our Sustainability
team, you ll build and nurture positive working relationships with teams and clients with the intention to exceed client expectations. You ll:
Key Responsibilities
Working as a part of the ESG team, your primary role will be to make direct contributions on client engagements, centered around the development and implementation of the client s strategic ESG and Climate & Sustainability initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region. The responsibilities of this role may include:
Project Delivery
- Have work experience on ESG reporting landscape, climate risk assessment and requirements for GHG accounting and climate-related metrics / KPIs.
- Environment and Impact Assessments and evaluations (ESIA)
- ESG Due Diligence / compliance audits;
- Environment and Social Management Systems
- Work on the data extraction, cleaning, processing, ingestion, and visualization activities for GHG accounting, ESG-related data KPI s etc.
- Provide GHG accounting services related to Scope 1, 2, & 3 emissions (e.g., research for related emission factors, methodologies for calculations), including customization of GHG data collection against standardized methodologies for various engagements
- Oversee interpretation of ESG related regulations / frameworks / guidelines such as International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), Task Force on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) among others
- Decarbonization and Climate Risk Assessment
- Sustainability road maps
Business Development
- Provide pursuit support by preparing proposals / pitches to bring new business, leveraging Deloitte s global credentials.
- Work with team to conduct primary and secondary research to prepare Thought Leadership (TLs) and Point of View (PoV) documents
Desired qualifications
- Practitioner with 3+ years of experience in ESG, or Climate & Sustainability role
- Prior experience in driving client engagements and programs.
- Global project delivery experience
- Stellar academic credentials Masters (MSc/ BE/ ME) Engineering / Environmental / Chemical/ Environmental Science; additional ESG / S&C related certifications from GRI, SASB, TCFD, or any other regulatory body preferred.
Skills Required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word)
- Out-of-box thinking and an inclination for problem solving
- Keen business acumen and general awareness of the overall business environment, understanding the broader context in which project delivery impacts business performance
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills (written & verbal), able to build relationships and communicate effectively to positively influence peers and other stakeholders
- Willingness to take initiative, learn independently, and share knowledge/experience with others; a fast learner who can adapt to a dynamic ESG / Climate & Sustainability landscape quickly, and can keep oneself updated with ESG innovations.
- Knowledge and/or experience leading projects in key topics / areas of ESG, including Climate & Sustainability
- In-depth knowledge of ESG ratings, climate risk, energy efficiency, and decarbonisation
- Knowledge of GHG accounting practices using GHG protocol
- Thorough understanding of ESG risks and opportunity drivers as well as ESG rating methodologies and agencies
- Knowledge of Environmental & Social surveys and related management
Location and way of working
- Base location: Bangalore
- This profile involves frequent travelling to client location
