Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement design management plans including an effective and efficient design review process to ensure that the design meets the overall goals and objectives for the project.
  • Help the client establish correct design requirements, standards, and specifications.
  • Lead and evaluate design review and design related management tasks on behalf of the WSP team both internal and external.
  • Ensure that tasks assigned to the design team are done correctly and in a timely fashion.
  • Coordinate with all internal and external disciplines to ensure collaboration takes place.
  • Support the contract management teams in reviewing claims and VOs related to design
  • Provide technical support and control of the design program with direct responsibility for design review, coordination, monitoring of design schedules, design drawings, documentation.
  • Responsible for reviewing design changes submitted to ensure project remains within budget.
  • Ensure that the design is well coordinated and well presented.
  • Ensure that the client requirements are translated into the design.
  • Ensuring appropriate Design standards are implemented.
  • Preparation of reports and presentations.
  • Interaction with clients and other members of the design team.
  • Complete understanding of project lifecycles from inception to handover (and beyond).
Key Competencies / Skills

Mandatory Skills

  • 10+ years demonstrable experience of Design Management of multidisciplinary Property & Buildings projects.
  • Good knowledge of all the relevant Codes and Standards.
  • Good working knowledge of the following software packages: - Navisworks, - AutoCAD, - MS Office - InDesign or equivalent
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Good command of the English language.

Desired Skills

  • Use of Revit
  • Member of or working towards a Professional body membership will be preferred
  • History of working with an international engineering consultancy
  • Familiar with working in multidisciplinary teams involving, architects, M&E engineers, planners, geotechnical engineers, and quantity surveyors
  • Ability to undertake tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Working knowledge of Revit.
