Position: Senior Travel Consultant
Department: Sales / OperationsLocation: Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu Reporting To: Travel Manager / Branch HeadRole OverviewThe Senior Travel Consultant is responsible for handling end-to-end travel planning for clients, including itinerary creation, costing, bookings, vendor coordination, and customer service. The role requires strong destination knowledge, sales ability, communication skills, and experience in both domestic and international travel packages.Key Responsibilities1. Sales & Customer HandlingInteract with clients to understand travel requirements and preferences.Prepare and share customized itineraries and quotations.Convert enquiries into confirmed bookings.Maintain excellent customer service and after-sales support.Handle walk-in, phone, WhatsApp, and email enquiries effectively.2. Package Planning & CostingDesign domestic & international tour packages.Prepare costing, inclusions, exclusions, and travel notes.Suggest hotels, sightseeing, transfers, and activities based on budget.Upsell additional services (insurance, visas, activities, upgrades).3. Booking & OperationsCoordinate with suppliers, hotels, DMCs, airlines, and transporters.Manage flight bookings, hotel bookings, transfers, sightseeing activities, etc.Ensure accurate documentation – vouchers, invoices, confirmations.Handle amendments, cancellations, and replacements.4. Visa & DocumentationGuide customers on visa requirements and documentation.Coordinate with visa teams or embassies for submissions when required.5. Client Support During TravelAct as the main contact for travelers before and during the trip.Resolve client issues, delays, or changes quickly.Maintain customer satisfaction and collect feedback after the trip.6. Reporting & CoordinationMaintain enquiry logs, booking records, and sales reports.Achieve monthly sales targets.Coordinate with accounts for billing & payments.Required Skills & QualificationsMinimum 3–5 years experience as a Travel Consultant / Sr. Travel Consultant.Strong knowledge of destinations (Asia, Europe, Middle East, etc.).Experience using GDS (Amadeus / Galileo / Sabre) is an advantage.Good communication skills – verbal & written.Strong sales, negotiation & customer-handling abilities.Ability to work under pressure and meet targets.Attention to detail & strong organizational skills.Preferred AttributesPositive attitude & strong customer-service mindset.Ability to multitask and handle multiple bookings.Team player with problem-solving skills.Flexible to work on weekends or extended hours if required.
