Senior Barista

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and quality-focused Senior Barista who can lead bar operations, ensure beverage consistency, and set service standards on the floor. The role requires strong coffee fundamentals, attention to detail, and the ability to support junior baristas during service.

This is for a speciality cafe in a prestigious property.

Please Note:

• Prior experience with reputed specialty or premium caf chains is an added advantage (for example, Third Wave, Blue Tokai, Araku, Subko and similar brands)

• Immediate joiners preferred

Key Responsibilities

Coffee & Beverage Execution

• Prepare and serve espresso-based beverages to consistently high standards
• Own espresso dial-in, recipe adherence, and shot quality across shifts
• Ensure milk texturing and latte art meet caf standards
• Prepare cold brew, iced beverages, and seasonal drinks
• Maintain strict hygiene, food safety, and quality controls
  

Bar & Equipment Ownership

• Operate and oversee espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment
• Perform daily cleaning, backflushing, and preventive maintenance checks
• Identify and report equipment or quality issues proactively
• Maintain bar cleanliness, layout discipline, and workflow efficiency
  

Team Support & Training

• Guide and support junior baristas during service
• Train new team members on recipes, SOPs, and bar discipline
• Lead by example on punctuality, grooming, and work ethic
  

Customer Experience

• Deliver warm, confident, and professional customer interactions
• Handle customer feedback, special requests, and escalations when required
• Recommend beverages based on customer preferences
  

Operations & Compliance

• Support shift opening and closing procedures
• Assist in tracking coffee, milk, and bar consumable usage
• Ensure SOP adherence across shifts
• Coordinate with service and kitchen teams to ensure smooth operations
  

Skills & Requirements

• 2-4 years of experience as a Barista, preferably in a specialty or premium caf
• Strong understanding of espresso extraction, grind adjustment, and milk steaming
• Comfortable working on commercial espresso machines and grinders
• Ability to manage peak-hour pressure while maintaining quality
• Good communication skills in English and local language
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and holidays
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in training or mentoring junior baristas
• Exposure to specialty coffee, single-origin coffees, or manual brewing
• Basic understanding of inventory and wastage control
