Senior Backend Developer (Node.js)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Backend Developer with expertise in Node.js to join our growing development team. As a core backend engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust, scalable server-side applications and APIs that power modern web applications.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain high-performance, scalable backend services using Node.js
• Design and implement RESTful APIs
• Collaborate with frontend developers, QA and product teams to deliver end-to-end features
• Integrate third-party services and APIs
• Write clean, efficient, and reusable code following best practices
• Optimize applications for performance, reliability, and security
• Implement authentication and authorization solutions (e.g., JWT, OAuth)
• Perform code reviews and mentor junior developers
• Maintain thorough documentation of code and systems

Required Skills:

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience with Node.js
• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, event-driven architecture, and design patterns
• Experience with Express.js, NestJS, or similar Node frameworks
• Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript
• Experience with databases both SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (Redis)
• Good understanding of API security, performance optimization, and scalability
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker and Kubernetes)
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Digital Ocean)

Nice to Have:

• Experience with microservices or serverless architecture
• Familiarity with message brokers (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka)
• Unit and integration testing
• Understanding of DevOps practices and monitoring tools
• Exposure to Agile development methodologies
