Senior Associate - M&A - Tax and Regulatory

About the Role

We are strengthening our Investment Banking and Transaction Advisory team and are seeking a sharp Chartered Accountant who excels at the intersection of tax, regulatory frameworks, and deal economics.

You will work closely with the partners on a diverse range of mandates from transaction structuring, valuation and modelling, to regulatory representations. This role combines technical expertise in tax and regulatory matters with a strong commercial understanding of financial decisions that inform strategic deals.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and advise on transaction structuring across mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and reorganisations
• Conduct independent research on tax & regulatory aspects with respect to Companies Act, Income-Tax, SEBI, FEMA, IND-AS, etc.
• Develop and review valuation models, scenario analysis and financial models to back strategic decisions
• Assist in deal documentation: term sheets, shareholder & investment agreements, and regulatory submissions
• Collaborate on pre-IPO advisory, due diligence support and other capital-market–linked engagements
• Partner with clients’ leadership to align regulatory compliance with business strategy

Ideal Candidate

• CA (2–4 years PQE) with hands-on experience in tax-regulatory advisory and exposure to financial modelling/valuations
• Demonstrated ability to translate regulatory frameworks into practical business solutions
• A proactive mindset with strong analytical, drafting, and stakeholder-management skills
• Curiosity for strategic business issues beyond compliance
