Job Description

As a Senior Associate Data Privacy at EY, you will have the opportunity to join a fast-growing team in the GCO Enablement team in GDS India. Your role as a meticulous and knowledgeable Records of Processing Activities (ROPA) Specialist will involve ensuring compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) by maintaining accurate and comprehensive records of processing activities. Your work will be crucial in supporting the organization's commitment to data protection and privacy, requiring sound experience in data privacy (GDPR), data protection, and related areas. Your Key Responsibilities: - Maintain ROPA Documentation: - Develop, implement, and maintain the Records of Processing Activities in accordance with GDPR requirements. - Ensure completeness, accuracy, and regular updates of all records to reflect current processing activities. - Data Inventory and Mapping: - Conduct data inventory and mapping exercises to identify all personal data processed by the organization. - Collaborate with various departments to gather and document information on data processing activities. - Compliance and Risk Management: - Monitor compliance with GDPR and relevant data protection regulations. - Identify potential risks associated with data processing and recommend mitigation strategies. - Effectively manage workflow, provide practical advice on privacy issues, attend GCO meetings and training sessions, and work with a team of data protection resources. Skills And Attributes For Success: We are seeking someone who: - Provides advice based on risk mitigation and business interests. - Uses independent judgment and critical thinking for issue resolution. - Maintains the ROPA Dashboard according to GDPR and EY policies. - Works independently on projects, drawing upon extensive knowledge and experience for quality risk management. To qualify, you must have: - Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet multiple deadlines. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - High cultural and emotional intelligence. - Ability to understand and articulate complex concepts. - Prioritization skills, teamwork ability, and responsiveness with high workload volumes. - Commercial, solution-oriented thinking with a focus on exceptional client service. Experience And Qualification: - Data Privacy lawyer with 3-5 years of experience in data privacy and in-depth knowledge of EU privacy laws. - Experience with privacy laws, regulations, workload management, negotiation, and drafting skills. - Previous experience in financial or professional services environment. - Preferably holds relevant certifications on privacy (CIPP).
