Senior Administrator -Azure

As Senior Azure Administrator for a US based MSP , this position is accountable for a wide array of advanced, mission-critical responsibilities that go far beyond basic administration.

Cloud Infrastructure Management

Oversee allocation and management of Azure subscriptions, organizing resources with tagging and resource groups for optimal cost management and operational efficiency.

Design, implement, and maintain storage solutions (Azure Blob, File Shares), and create robust data backup and replication strategies to ensure disaster recovery readiness.

Deploy and manage virtual machines (VMs), containers, and app services, selecting appropriate VM sizes, scaling, and high-availability configurations for business continuity.

Advanced Network & Security

Architect and manage complex Azure virtual networks, configure VPNs, ExpressRoute, network security groups, subnets, and routing to enable secure global/hybrid cloud connectivity.

Implement and monitor security protocols, access controls, firewalls, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and regulatory compliance strategies; conduct frequent security assessments and audits.

Collaborate with cloud security teams to proactively identify threats and mitigate risks across international environments, including designing and testing disaster recovery.

Mail & Messaging

Should have knowledge of enterprise mail and messaging systems (Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, hybrid environments), ensuring seamless integration with Azure and business platforms.

Monitoring & Automation

Utilise Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and intelligent alerting to track performance and health of resources, troubleshoot proactively, and analyse logs for performance optimisation.

Develop and maintain automation scripts with PowerShell, Azure CLI, or other tools to streamline workload deployments, updates, backups, and operational consistency.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of total Microsoft technology experience (on-prem and cloud).
• 5–7 years hands-on administering Azure cloud platforms for large or international clients.
• Proven expertise in security, compliance, governance, and disaster recovery in Azure.
• Working knowledge of enterprise Mail & Messaging systems (Microsoft 365, Exchange Online).
• Valid Azure Cloud Certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, SC-100, SC -900 or similar).
• Advanced automation skills with PowerShell, Azure CLI, or equivalent scripting tools.
• Exceptional fluency in English—written and spoken. Candidates with weak English skills will not be considered.
• Experience supporting or collaborating with US teams is strongly preferred.
