Senior Accountant, Travel and Expense Claims, for Global Financial Operations

We are looking for
Senior Accountant, Travel and Expense Claims
for Global Financial Operations to be based in Chennai, India. Global Financial Operations is a global operational finance business partner, providing efficient end-to-end financial processes to Valmet. We are owners of Valmet’s operative accounting and invest heavily in process harmonization and software automation. We are ambitious and passionate in developing our processes and team competencies.In this position, you will be required to,
- Managing travel and expense claim process and related reporting, drive issue resolution and provide expertise in expense claim matters.
- Implementing Valmet travel policy including statutory requirements
- Travel and expense claims rules management and update (daily allowance, mileage compensations etc.)
- Travel and expense claims processing including legal requirements and basic data validation (e.g. Tax handling)
- Travel and expense claim related interfaces reconciliations, transactions completeness validation and issue resolution
- Corporate payment cards and similar methods administration
- Travellers’ balances monitoring and initiating reclaims
- Validating and creating payment files
- Period-end closing, financial data validation, accounts reconciliations and specifications
- Providing expertise and coaching in accounting principles and practices both from accounting and system viewpoint to accountants, controllers and other stakeholders.
- Identifying requirements and gaps in solutions and effectively conducting change management.
- Participating ongoing travel & expense claims tool implementation project, Global Financial Operations extension to new countries and ERP implementation project on travel & expense claims matters
- Participate process development and system testing and Workday implementations (e.g. Leap Forward).
- Assisting GFO teams and substituting when needed
To Succeed This Role, You Will Need
A graduate degree in Commerce Experience in Shared Services Over 10 years of relevant experience A self-motivated attitude and strong team spirit Good written and oral communication skills in English.
