Senior Accountant

Role Overview: As a Senior Accountant with Business Development Skills at The Professional Couriers, you will be responsible for managing daily accounting operations, finalizing accounts, ensuring statutory compliance, conducting internal audits, and supporting new business opportunities. You will play a key role in overseeing financial activities, improving operational efficiency, and building customer relationships in Chennai and across Tamil Nadu. Key Responsibilities: - Manage daily accounting operations, ledgers, and reconciliations. - Finalize accounts and prepare regular financial statements and reports. - Ensure statutory compliance including GST, TDS, and Income Tax. - Conduct and oversee internal audits; assist with statutory audits. - Supervise financial activities of branch offices and provide timely insights. - Identify and support new business opportunities within Tamil Nadu. - Collaborate on client proposals, rate structuring, and market strategies. - Review and improve financial and operational efficiency at branches. - Build and maintain customer relationships to support business retention and expansion. Qualification Required: - Male candidates only, aged 35 to 40 years. - Bachelors degree in Commerce/Finance; CA Inter/Final preferred. - Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in accounting. - Proficient in Tally, MS Excel, and accounting software. - Strong understanding of Indian taxation and compliance. - Effective communication and interpersonal skills. - Must be based in Chennai and willing to travel across Tamil Nadu.
