Academic Counselor – Job Description (Lead Conversion Focus)
Position Summary:
The Academic Counselor is responsible for guiding students in selecting the right academic and professional courses while ensuring high lead conversion. The role involves counseling, follow-ups, maintaining student relationships, and achieving admission targets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Student Counseling & Guidance
Provide clear and accurate information about courses, eligibility, duration, fees, and career outcomes.
Understand each student's goals, strengths, and interests to suggest suitable courses.
Conduct one-to-one counseling sessions (online/offline).
2. Lead Conversion & Sales
Convert inquiries into admissions through effective communication and relationship building.
Follow up with potential students daily through calls, WhatsApp, and email.
Maintain high conversion ratios from leads to admissions.
Explain benefits, outcomes, and unique selling points of the institute to influence decision-making.
Handle objections and doubts professionally and confidently.
3. Lead Management
Manage and update leads in CRM/lead-tracking sheets.
Prioritize hot, warm, and cold leads for better follow-up.
Ensure timely reminders and continuous engagement until conversion.
4. Admission Process Coordination
Assist students with registration, documentation, and fee payment.
Coordinate with the academic and admin teams to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
5. Relationship Building
Build strong rapport with students and parents for trust-based conversions.
Provide post-admission support whenever required.
Maintain positive interactions to encourage referrals.
6. Communication & Presentation
Handle walk-ins confidently.
Give presentations during seminars, orientation programs, and college visits.
Communicate course benefits in a convincing manner.
7. Reporting
Maintain daily counseling reports, follow-up updates, and conversion data.
Share weekly admission performance to the management.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (Any stream)

Industry-standard salary + incentives for admissions
