Secretary to the Bishop

The Role

This role provides executive and administrative support to the Bishop of Delhi and supports coordination across clergy, institutions, and diocesan life. From managing correspondence and meetings to assisting with diocesan events, you’ll be a critical point of connection in the life of the Church.

Responsibilities

• Manage correspondence, official letters, and communications
• Maintain digital records for clergy and key diocesan contacts
• Draft meeting agendas, take notes, and follow up on action points
• Liaise with internal, specifically the Bishop’s Chaplain, and external stakeholders, dignitaries, and staff
• Support the Bishop in meetings, travel arrangements, and key events
• Offer administrative support for projects, missions, and emerging initiatives

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree from a recognised university
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Ability to manage time independently and take initiative
• A letter of recommendation from your church/pastor

Preferred Qualifications (Not required)

• Experience in administrative or support roles (including internships, volunteering, etc.)
• Comfort with digital tools, project coordination, or basic design
• Exposure to church or non-profit environments
• Ability to travel occasionally within the Diocese
