About the Role:

SDE I – Backend Developer (Node.js)

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who’s technically deep, naturally collaborative, and eager to take on leadership responsibility while still being close to the code.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a small team of backend engineers, fostering a high-performance, collaborative, and learning-focused culture.
• Architect, design, and build scalable and fault-tolerant backend systems using

  Node.js

  . (Experience in Python is a bonus.)
• Drive the design and performance of

  SQL

  (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and

  NoSQL

  (MongoDB, Redis) databases.
• Define and implement backend

  APIs

  (RESTful and GraphQL) with proper authentication, rate-limiting, and caching strategies.
• Champion clean code practices, automated testing, and

  CI/CD

  processes for reliable and maintainable software delivery.
• Participate in and lead code reviews, system design discussions, and technical planning.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, DevOps, and frontend engineers to ensure seamless delivery.
• Help define and maintain coding standards, development workflows, and contribute to team hiring and onboarding.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 2-3 years of backend development experience, including team or tech leadership.
• Expertise in

  Node.js

  and real-world experience building large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong grasp of system architecture, microservices, event-driven design, and message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Proven experience in database design and optimization across

  SQL

  and

  NoSQL

  systems.
• Hands-on with API development, authentication, caching, and rate-limiting techniques.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP),

  Docker/Kubernetes

  , and

  CI/CD pipelines.

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; able to make sound architectural decisions quickly.
