Job Description

We are committed to transforming the leather industry with innovative biomaterials that drastically reduce environmental impact while preserving the durability, functionality, and aesthetic excellence consumers expect. We’re looking for a curious, passionate, and self-driven individual who thrives in an interdisciplinary environment and can help translate science into compelling narratives while actively contributing to our R&D, outreach, and community building. Responsibilities Experimentation & Research Support Contribute to the design, planning, and execution of laboratory experiments for mycelium cultivation and material testing. Conduct literature reviews and stay updated with the latest research in biomaterials, fungal biology, and sustainable alternatives. Work closely with the R&D team to iterate on prototype development and material performance. Scientific & Blog Writing Convert technical findings into clear, engaging, and accessible content for stakeholders, grant applications, and the public. Write blogs, articles, and newsletters on sustainability, biomaterials, and mycelium innovations. Collaborate with the team on pitch decks, whitepapers, and presentations. Social Media Management Manage and grow mico’s social media presence across platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.). Create content calendars, posts, infographics, and short-form videos aligned with brand values. Engage with the sustainability and biomaterials community online to build awareness and credibility. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Environmental Studies, Design, or a related field. Strong writing skills with the ability to adapt tone for scientific and public audiences. Basic understanding of experimental methods and scientific documentation. Familiarity with Canva, Figma, or similar tools for content creation. Comfortable with managing Instagram, LinkedIn, and other social media platforms. Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to work in a startup environment. Passionate about sustainability, biomaterials, and storytelling. Show more Show less
