ob Description – School Canteen Manager (Chef Background)

Role Overview:
Manage the school canteen’s daily operations, combining culinary expertise with strong leadership to provide safe, nutritious, and appealing meals for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements:

• Plan and execute balanced, child-friendly menus with seasonal/local ingredients.
• Supervise and participate in daily food preparation and cooking.
• Maintain high standards of taste, presentation, and hygiene.
• Ensure compliance with FSSAI and all food safety regulations.
• Manage purchasing, inventory, and cost control to meet budget targets.
• Train, schedule, and supervise canteen/kitchen staff.
• Address dietary restrictions, allergies, and special nutrition needs.
• Monitor quality and portion control to reduce waste.
• Maintain accurate records of sales, purchases, and stock levels.
• Coordinate with school administration on menu approvals and pricing.
• Gather feedback from students, parents, and staff for continuous improvement.
• Oversee cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas.
• Implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
• Support school events with catering when required.
• Work primarily during school hours, with flexibility for special functions.

Qualifications:

• Professional culinary training/diploma or hotel management degree.
• 3–5 years’ experience as a chef or in kitchen management.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
