SAP - PPDS

The SAP PPDS Consultant is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting solutions that enhance production planning and detailed scheduling processes. The role focuses on optimizing resource utilization, minimizing production lead times, and improving on-time delivery performance within an SAP environment.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze and document business requirements for production planning, capacity management, and scheduling.

Design and configure SAP PPDS (in S/4HANA ) to support end-to-end planning and scheduling needs.

Develop and maintain master data including production versions, PDS/PPMs, resources, and work centers.

Set up planning heuristics, optimizer profiles, and detailed scheduling strategies for efficient production runs.

Integrate PPDS with related modules: PP, MM, SD, QM, and SCM.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align production plans with material availability and demand forecasts.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues in planning runs, order confirmations, and capacity leveling.

Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing.

Provide training and documentation for key users and planners.

Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning efficiency and reduce costs.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or related field.

Strong understanding of production planning, capacity planning, and shop floor control.

Hands-on experience in PPDS configuration, heuristics, optimizer, and alert monitoring.

Knowledge of integration with SAP S/4HANA and CIF (Core Interface).

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Few weeks out of country travel and work effectively with technical teams.
