Job Title: Sales Manager General Insurance

Job Overview

The Sales Manager General Insurance is responsible for achieving business targets and driving market penetration of general insurance products through recruitment, training, and management of POS (Point of Sales) advisors and direct sales activities. The role demands strong business development capabilities, customer relationship management, and leadership skills to build and sustain a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Sales

  • Generate new business opportunities for General Insurance products (Health, Motor, Property, Travel, and Liability Insurance).
  • Conduct direct sales calls and presentations to individual and corporate clients.
  • Achieve monthly and annual sales targets through effective planning and execution.

2. POS Advisor Recruitment & Management

  • Recruit, train, and develop POS (Point of Sales) advisors to expand distribution channels.
  • Monitor advisor performance and support them in achieving individual sales targets.
  • Conduct regular training sessions on products, sales techniques, and regulatory compliance.

3. Customer Service & Claim Management

  • Ensure smooth onboarding of customers, issuance of policies, and timely renewals.
  • Support clients during claim intimation and settlement processes.
  • Maintain a strong customer service orientation to ensure retention and repeat business.

4. Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure adherence to IRDAI and company guidelines in all sales and service processes.
  • Prepare regular MIS reports on sales performance, POS recruitment, and business growth.
  • Report key market insights and competitor activities to management.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of General Insurance products (Health, Motor, Travel, etc.).

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and manage a team effectively.
  • Customer-focused with problem-solving abilities.
  • Goal-oriented with strong business acumen.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Graduate in any discipline; MBA preferred.

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in General Insurance / BFSI sales.

  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience in advisor recruitment and channel development is an advantage.
