Job Description

Job Purpose:
To ensure that all construction activities at the site comply with statutory safety regulations, company policies, and client requirements. The Safety Officer – Civil will monitor, implement, and improve safety systems and procedures to maintain a safe and accident-free work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor day-to-day civil construction activities to ensure compliance with HSE standards and statutory requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards, unsafe practices, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure all personnel on-site adhere to PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and review Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Risk Assessments for all critical activities.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and training sessions for site workers and subcontractors.
  • Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, near-misses, and corrective actions.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and prepare detailed reports.
  • Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure HSE compliance.
  • Assist in emergency preparedness and response planning, including conducting mock drills.
  • Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements such as Factories Act, BOCW (Building and Other Construction Workers) Act, and other applicable regulations.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement among site personnel.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma / Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Certification in Industrial Safety / NEBOSH / IOSH / Diploma in Safety Management preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in HSE within the civil construction industry (infrastructure, buildings, roads, etc.).
  • Good knowledge of national and international safety standards (ISO 45001, OSHA, etc.).
  • Experience in developing and implementing HSE procedures, incident investigation, and risk assessment.
  • Proficient in MS Office and report documentation.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
