Safety Officer

Roles & Responsibilities

• Ensure Workplace Safety

  : Monitor and enforce safety protocols across manufacturing units, assembly lines, and testing zones.

• Hazard Identification

  : Proactively identify mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards specific to automotive production.

• Risk Assessment

  : Conduct regular risk evaluations for machinery, welding stations, paint booths, and robotic systems.

• Compliance Management

  : Ensure adherence to local, national, and international safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001).

• Incident Investigation

  : Lead investigations into workplace accidents, near-misses, and unsafe practices; recommend corrective actions.

• Safety Training

  : Organize training programs on PPE usage, fire safety, ergonomics, and emergency response for all staff.

• Emergency Preparedness

  : Develop and maintain evacuation plans, fire drills, and first-aid readiness.

• Documentation & Reporting

  : Maintain safety records, inspection logs, and compliance reports for audits and internal reviews.

• Safety Audits

  : Conduct periodic audits of equipment, processes, and employee behavior to ensure safety standards are met.

• Contractor Safety Oversight

  : Monitor third-party vendors and contractors to ensure they follow site-specific safety protocols.

• Machine Guarding & Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)

  : Ensure proper procedures are followed during maintenance of high-risk equipment.

• Chemical Safety

  : Oversee safe handling and storage of paints, solvents, and lubricants used in manufacturing.

• Ergonomics

  : Implement ergonomic solutions to reduce strain injuries in repetitive tasks like welding, assembly, and inspection.

• Vehicle Testing Safety

  : Supervise crash test zones, emissions testing, and prototype handling to prevent hazards.

• Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)

  : Collaborate with environmental teams to manage waste disposal, air quality, and noise control.
