Safety Engineer

• Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with local, national, and international regulations.
• Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions.
• Assess risks and perform hazard analyses to ensure that appropriate control measures are in place.
• Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, and workers to promote a safe working culture.
• Monitor and maintain safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, PPE, alarms, and first-aid kits.
• Organize safety training programs and toolbox talks for employees and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with statutory safety regulations such as OSHA, ISO 45001, and local labour laws.
• Prepare and maintain safety documentation, including risk assessments, safety permits, and compliance records.
• Support design and engineering teams by integrating safety measures into project planning and execution.
• Conduct job safety analyses (JSA) and ensure all high-risk activities have proper permits and control measures.
• Supervise and guide site safety officers and ensure they effectively implement the safety management plan.
• Promote a proactive safety culture through awareness campaigns, safety observations, and incentive programs.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities on all health, safety, and environmental matters.
• Monitor environmental aspects such as waste management, noise, and pollution control related to safety operations.
• Ensure emergency preparedness and response plans are established and practiced through regular drills.
• Review contractor safety plans and risk assessments before work commencement.
• Evaluate new equipment, materials, and processes for potential safety risks.
• Track and analyze safety performance indicators to identify trends and implement continuous improvement actions.
• Report to senior management on safety performance, compliance issues, and recommendations for improvement.
